According to an article in Enchantment Magazine the center of
New Mexico has been located. I couldn't find a link to this
on their website to provide here.
Getting there
On New Mexico Highway 42 travel southwest out of Willard for
14 miles or northwest out of Corona for 21 miles. Between
mile markers 21 and 22, turn south onto the ranch road,
Center of New Mexico Trail, to the main ranch entrance gate.
Then pass through the walk-through gate and follow the path
to the flagpole.
It's located on the Seven UP, Seven Down Ranch. A concrete slab
in the state's shape and benches provide a perfect place for
visitors to relax and enjoy the scenery.
The ranch is 100 years old this year.
This article is written by Melody Groves, who, according to her
website is a native New Mexican, and author of many books on the
southwest. http://www.melodygroves.com/index.html
