Guess the "owner" of this newsgroup is now either
IN the Loony lockup - or another lockup for some reason.

Whatever, it looks like this newsgroup is up for grabs.
Maybe a new owner will arise from Loopy's ashes?

I know that...but...
You need to tell Loopy that!
She's the one who constantly welcomed people
to her newsgroup, hoping to keep alive her endlessly
boring repititions.

I am thinking maybe he got to close in the murder mystery, and had to
be dealt with..... They cut the cable into the house.

Probably closer to the truth. We all know she
was a regular harassing force on MANY forums
around the internet, so it's quite possible the
Web TV people cut off her account after so many
"abuse" reports were received.

We're the home of the famous Green Chili Cheeseburger. We're even on the
New Mexico Green Chile Cheeseburger Map! The Bobcat Bite Restaurant has
been part of Santa Fe History since 1953.

Late fall-early winter, but yeah, it's a riot any other time.

And good as it is it ain't NM's best green chile cheeseburger.

That's at:

http://dchieftain.com/news/90562-07-29-09.html

In recognition of the attention the Buckhorn's famous green chile
cheeseburger had brought to the state, the governor issued a
proclamation declaring July 24, 2009, "Buckhorn Tavern Day" in New
Mexico. He was coming to present Olguin with a framed copy of the
proclamation, personally congratulate him on his victory in a nationally
televised cook-off, and taste for himself the burger that has already
been recognized as the seventh best burger in the nation by Gentlemen's
Quarterly and the third "Baddest Burger in the Land" by marlboro.com.

(hint, the side shoestring/strawcut fries are too die for)

The "originator" of the item is reputedly the OWL BAR
in San Antonio, NM (not TX), and the OWL has an
international reputation for the treat. Close behind
is THE OUTLAW BAR in Carrizozo - a favorite of the
biker classes.

Pity they didn't step about 1/2 a block to the south and west to the
Buckhorn.

Both good, one clearly BETTER.

And almost 3 times as big!

The green chile cheeseburger at the Owl, not bad by any means, is McD's
in size compared to the Buckhorn burger.

Same for their rather tasty green chile cheese fries.

There is NO comparison, let your mouth be the judge!

Buckhorn rules.

As is endlessly stated when it comes to art works...
...it's all a matter of personal taste!

Then there's this - bigger is not always better!

As for my personal tastes, I sicken at the sight
of greasy meat squashed in a bun, regardless of
which product the advertisement represents.

Unless it's more green chile!

A tip, the Buckhorn takes their already prepared green chile and refries
it on the grill with garlic powder, which deepens the taste.

We drove down to the Owl Cafe some years ago. I was all excited as the
Owl Cafe was world famous!

We walk in sit down and order. My burger shows up and looks just like
the burgers I cook at home. Kind of greasy and no real shape to it,
with a hot greasy bun. The price was more in line with a uptown blue
plate special.

It must be a rare experience for burger lovers to actually cook one at home.

Once was enough for the Owl Cafe and me.

I've never claimed to have discerning taste buds.
So the green chile cheeseburger from the restaurant
chain named "Chili's" tastes the same to me as
one from The Outpost or the Owl. And here in
Ruidoso, where I live, the drive-in restaurant
known as "Chileo's" claims the best GCC in town,
but I've never stopped in there.

That's it precisely, it's nothing special, and neither is the cramped
dining room back past the bar - same for the chile cheese fries, average.

The Buckhorn simply rules and is WORTH the drive.
